uWire — cable assemblies

The extension cable with a UART-RS422 converter is designed to power and pair Zima-B/Zima2-B and Zima2-R devices in standard configuration, and can also be used with uWave/uWave MAX modems. The lower end of the cable has a sealed connector; next to the connector is the UART-RS422 interface converter, encapsulated in polyurethane compound.

Purpose

uWire moves a device away from the console or computer by the length of the cable, and does it in a single product: the cable supplies power, and the converter turns the device's UART interface into RS422. The cable is available in lengths of 5, 10 and 20 m. The sheath and insulation are polyurethane, the cable is resistant to external influences and has a load-bearing core.

Specifications

The main cable is 9 ± 0.5 mm in diameter, the thin cable is 6 ± 0.5 mm, and the operating temperature range is −20 to +60 °C. In the version without the upper connector, the wires are assigned as follows: red and black — power (+ and −), green and brown — Tx+ and Tx−, white (transparent) and blue — Rx+ and Rx−.

Compatibility and system composition

uWire is designed for the Zima2-B direction-finding antenna and the Zima2-R responder beacon in the standard configuration of the Zima2 USBL system, as well as for uWave and uWave Max modems. For mounting Zima2-B, Zima2-R and uWave Max on a flat flange, the uClamp-S bracket is suitable.
