RedPhone-OS

The RedPhone-OS wireless diver telephone station provides voice message transmission between a surface station and divers. The device supports standard frequency bands and is compatible with most similar systems. It is housed in a shock-resistant plastic case, with a control panel made of stainless steel with laser-engraved markings. The built-in power supply consists of lithium iron phosphate batteries that operate at sub-zero temperatures and provide more than 3,000 charge-discharge cycles

Purpose

RedPhone-OS is a surface station that sends voice messages from the dive-control point to divers and receives their replies. It is designed for use on port facilities, ships and small boats: with the lid closed, the case provides IP67 protection. Communication is half-duplex — while the station is transmitting, it cannot receive incoming messages.

Use

The station is placed on a stable base and tied by the case handle to a railing so it cannot fall into the water, while the antenna on its cable is lowered overboard: at least 2 m below the lowest point of the vessel and at least 1.5 m above the bottom. There must be line of sight between the station's antenna and the divers' antennas. The operator selects the channel with the panel switch, sets the volume and speaks into a microphone with a push-to-talk switch; headphones can be connected instead of the built-in loudspeaker. The standard delivery includes an antenna with a 7 m cable (a longer one is available by agreement), a microphone with a push-to-talk switch and a mains charger.

Compatibility and system composition

RedPhone-OS works together with RedPhone-DX diver stations and with other diver communication units that support the same signal parameters (eight standard channels). The station is part of the RedPhone system.
