RT-1.332820-1

RT-1.332820-1 is a miniature hydroacoustic antenna for receiving and emitting sound. Its working element is a single cylindrical piezo element, and the whole unit is built as a maintenance-free monoblock: the housing is 41×45 mm (diameter × height) and weighs 0.1 kg dry.

Purpose

It is the most compact and lightest of our transceiver antennas. It works for both transmission and reception, so a single antenna is enough for two-way communication. Like the other antennas in the range, it suits your own hydroacoustic modems and communication devices.

Key specifications

According to the specification, the maximum applied voltage (peak) is 200 V, the electrical capacitance is 15 ± 3 nF, and the maximum external hydrostatic pressure is 30 bar (about 300 m of water column). Within 10–40 kHz the directivity pattern is a torus coaxial with the cylinder, with a beamwidth of 120° at the 3 dB level. The operating temperature range is −40 to +60 °C. The shielded, polyurethane-insulated cable is 5 ± 0.5 mm in diameter and 1 m long as standard.

Compatibility

RT-1.332820-1 is one of the antenna options for the uSwitch hydroacoustic modem (described as an affordable solution with minimal dimensions) and is included in the standard ACubes kits, where the transmitter and receiver modules can share a single transceiver antenna. If you need higher sensitivity, the range also includes the two-element RT-2.332820-1 and the single-element RT-1.524525-1. The RT-1.332820-2 version adds a built-in band-pass filter: a 4th-order active filter on receive and a 2nd-order passive LC filter on transmit.
