Purpose

RT-1.524525-1 is a single-element transceiver antenna that balances sensitivity in receive and transmit modes against weight and size. It works for both transmission and reception. The housing is a maintenance-free monoblock built using patented technology and fully coated with polyurethane, so there are no corrosive parts in the design.

Key specifications

According to the specification, the housing is 64×65 mm (diameter × height), weighs 0.28 kg dry, and the maximum applied voltage (peak) is 200 V. The electrical capacitance is 20 ± 5 nF, and the maximum external hydrostatic pressure is 30 bar (about 300 m of water column). Within 10–40 kHz the directivity pattern is a torus coaxial with the cylinder, with a beamwidth of 120° at the 3 dB level. The operating temperature range is −40 to +60 °C. The shielded, polyurethane-insulated cable is 5 ± 0.5 mm in diameter and 1 m long as standard, and the housing has a mounting slot.

Compatibility

RT-1.524525-1 is one of the antenna options for the uSwitch hydroacoustic modem (a higher-sensitivity antenna) and is compatible with the ACubes kit. The uWave Max OEM module is supplied with exactly this antenna. For depths of up to 1000 m there is the water-filled RT-1.524525-FF; if minimal size matters most, choose the RT-1.332820-1, and if you need maximum transmit efficiency, the two-element RT-2.332820-1. The RT-1.524525-2 version adds a built-in band-pass filter: a 4th-order active filter on receive and a 2nd-order passive LC filter on transmit.
